We contracted McKeen Construction to upgrade a full bathroom, 2 piece bath and to make improvements to our finished basement including replacement of drop ceilings with drywall, floor tiling and lighting upgrades. Our experience began with the quoting stage. We met Ian who was meticulous collecting the details that he would need to provide a quote. We received a detailed quote including drawings and room by room breakdown of the proposed work. McKeen were not the lowest quote but inspired confidence that the quote provided was accurate. Ian inspired confidence in the way he paid close attention to detail and answered our questions. The next stage was orchestrated by Dylan, he met with us and walked through the entire project step by step. We were provided with a graphical calendar outlining the planned stages of work. Dylan was extremely responsive to our questions and easy to reach at all times during the project. He handled some minor issues quickly and satisfactorily. The trades people were very professional and polite. The project came in on time and budget. Thank you McKeen for busting all of the scare stories we hear about contractors. You are a bright star in your industry.

Just finished adding two dormers to our home with McKeen. Major renovations and ripping our roof off with a newborn in the house is not the easiest but Dylan and the McKeen team made the process as smooth as possible. Dylan was always extremely responsive, personable, and genuinely cared about our project and our happiness with the work being completed. Everything turned out great and our project finished up 2 weeks ahead of schedule and on budget, which has been a huge relief! The Mckeen team did a second bathroom and laundry room area for us. All the guys right from the beginning were terrific. They were all friendly, willing to listen, and never once said anything about changes we made along the way. It was always “whatever you want we want you to be happy”. The workers were all respectful and did their best for us. The owner stopped in a couple times as well to check in on things. We selected McKeen Construction based on recommendations of neighbours who had also used them. We were not disappointed. We started with a dated main bathroom and some vague ideas of what we wanted. Ian and his crew filled in the details and went to work. The different trades were on time, courteous, and cleaned up at the end of every day. One minor hiccup with a supplier was dealt with quickly with minimal delays. At the end of the day, we have the bathroom we wanted.

While there certainly have been small projects that we have tackled and DIY, when it came to completing a major renovation project, we thankfully decided to leave that up to professionals.

We decided on doing pretty much a full gut job and re-construction of our main floor. This included opening up walls, planning and bringing a vision to life that we had only in our minds. Ryan was fantastic in assisting with not only the planning of bringing this to life but also making his own design recommendations that helped make our vision even better.

Communication is absolutely vital in a project of this magnitude and Ryan or anyone on the McKeen Team was always available and willing to discuss and answer questions throughout the process. The Team was extremely professional and attention to detail absolutely amazing.

I have heard a lot of horror stories on major renovations and that has been happening even more so during COVID. Fortunately McKeen stayed true on original quotes and pretty much got the entire project completed on the promised time frame. We even occasionally requested some last minute add ons, tweaks or even additional work and everything was always completed with no hassle and as agreed. We were well aware that COVID was providing a lot of challenges for the industry, from shortages of trades, issues getting materials and run away costs. Somehow Ryan managed all this without missing a beat!

Our home is now practically a new house and for the fraction of the cost of changing homes. The project brought our vision to life and has turned our first home into our dream home. Ryan and the McKeen Team were amazing professionals, attentive, honest and trustworthy. They always followed through on their commitments and we would recommend them over and over again.

They listened to what work we required to be completed to our home, reviewed all the details of what was going to have to be done and provided us with a fair estimate. The individuals who completed the work were excellent! The estimate provided was bang on with no other hidden fees or charges. I had my leak damage repaired under my French Doors in the kitchen, new siding installed on an exterior window, drywall repaired in one of the rooms from a window leak, new flooring on the entire second level and minor repair to a ceiling. Everything was completed in a professional manner and everything looks awesome! Ryan and his team remodeled our two bathrooms (which involved replacing the floors, walls, shower, counter-top, sinks, vanity, drywall) and repaired other miscellaneous items in our home. I am just so pleased with the work McKeen Construction did for me. Ryan the senior project manager was so helpful and consulted me about everything and was always checking the work as it progressed.
